2024 Adult Volunteer Registration is Closed

San Mateo Little League American is run entirely by dedicated volunteers, and the smooth functioning of our league relies on active parent participation. The enthusiasm and dedication of our volunteers drive the governance and administration of the league. They manage and coach teams, schedule and oversee games, organize events, maintain fields, officiate as umpires, and ensure kids' safety.

Your time and talents are invaluable. We expect each family to contribute in some capacity, either in a team or league support role. Opportunities range from one-time tasks to ongoing commitments. We encourage everyone to find a role that aligns with their interests and availability.

Below are the following volunteer opportunities available:

• Board Members
• Team Managers for all Divisions
• Team Assistant Coaches for all Divisions
• Game Scorekeepers (Single A-Juniors)
• Game Day - Field Prep
• Game Day - Field Supervisors

Requirements for Adult Volunteering

To receive a field badge certifying completion, fulfill the following requirements before Opening Day on March 2, 2024.

For Team Managers or coaches only:

1. Review the 2024 SMLLA Volunteer List. If your name isn't listed, complete the 2024 Adult Volunteer Registration Form to be added.

2. If you are a returning team manager or coach, review the 2024 SMLLA Volunteer List and complete any outstanding or expired tasks. If you're NEW to managing and coaching, attend Safety Day at Trinta Park on 1/27/2024 (details below) AND complete all online training courses.

Online Training Courses

• Concussion Training: Heads Up (45-minute duration, required every three years)
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training: Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation (20-minute duration, required every three years) 
• Abuse Awareness for Adults: Creating a Safe and Abuse Free Environment for Athletes (10-minute duration, required annually)

Safety Day at Trinta Park, Saturday, January 27th, 8:30-11:30am

• 8:30-10am: Fingerprinting and background check by LiveScan. Bring a valid ID.
• 10:00-10:30am: First Aid Training
• 10:30-11:30am: Coaches Clinic with SMLLA Board and Coaches

3. All volunteers completing online training courses need to send completion receipts to [email protected].

For Field Prep, Scorekeepers or Photographers only:

1. Review the 2024 SMLLA Volunteer List. If your name isn't listed, complete the 2024 Adult Volunteer Registration Form to be added. This is the only requirement.
